Kim who runs the place needs to take customer service lessons. I have been a customer there for 4 months. They were supposed to take the monthly fee from my debit card each month. When I recieved a bill with over 100 in fees I went to speak with Kim. She stated that she emailed me regarding my bill. I asked her to repeat my email. She spelled my email incorrectly. I then asked her if she could waive some fees. She said no and asked me to leave. Wow, I couldn't believe she said that to me just for asking to waive fees that they don't explain to you. You have to look at the fine print. I also asked Kim to have her district manager call me. I never recieved a call. Today I spoke to Don who works there. It's evident that Kim trained him because his people skills are just as bad. I will never recommend anyone as there are an abundance of these places around the area. Buyer beware.

I stopped in today, was yelled at and cross examined by the Manager Kim. I asked for a credit for being denied access to my unit, she pulled out and handed me a form for Vacating Customers, that's retaining your existing tenants.

Change is never easy, I recently moved from Boca to Deerfield Beach and had to downsize from a house to an apartment. Thanks to Kim for being sincere to my sensitive situation, I was able to store my stuff at an affordable rate. She is honestly the nicest person I have ever met in Customer Service. She loves her job, and her customers. Thank you Kim for all you do for PITA customers like me xo

Since I have rented for so long, the rates have gone up 30% since I started renting. She compered it to cable TV they give you a low initial rate than raise their rates.

Friendly staff, generally pretty clean , BUT ... Lately I've noticed a little slacking in the restroom cleaning. Still giving 5 stars.

I don't think they want you downsize or retain you at the existing rate.

I will give her credit she say "lets go see the vacancies" but, she's a smoker and its was overwhelming so, I passed on her offer.

Upon my review of the site for vacancies I counted 8 units that that either had no locks or tagged as ready to be leased but, was told only 3 units were available.

I have rented from Federal Highway Self Storage since 2010 that's over $30K. I lost access to my unit for 10 days due a hurricane, I called to talk to the 3rd party management group that runs the place for the owner. I was hung up on twice and was told Kim the manager was out.

I then asked to match existing offers for their vacancies and was told we don't reward existing customers just new ones.

The owner of the property is one of the most respected successful firms in the area, they run a great family business and have for over 50 years. It is a shame that they have entrusted a third party management group to misrepresent their interests.

I then asked to provide me a site plan on what was available in a smaller unit and Kim's reply we don't have one. She did ask me to follow the moving screen on the display but, it was too confusing. I asked her to print one but, she advised me she wasn't computer savvy.

They are aware its tough to pack up and relocate or leave.

My mom decided to do business with Federal Self Storage and was also given a hard time by Kim. There was a misunderstanding regarding payment and my mom was charged a $10 fee. She tried to explain to Kim (whose job is to deal with customers) that another associate misinformed her and she wasn’t having it. She first hung up the phone on her and then when my mom decided to try and communicate with her in person she told her to leave or she was going to call the cops. She told her that no one ever misinforms anyone and she should read the signs next time. She accused my mother of being drunk and when my mom stepped outside to wait for the cops that she supposedly called she locked the door behind her. Customers can be difficult because I deal with them on a daily basis, but I have never heard of anyone handling a customer in that manner. Clearly based off the reviews this is not the first time. My only guess is that she is probably a family member of someone who owns the place and she can’t get a job anywhere else due to her attitude. The fact that my mother was treated this way by someone in a position of authority at a business is disgusting. This woman doesn’t need a job. She needs medication for her anger issues and attitude problems.
